2022 Domaine des Hauts Chassis Hermitage
Tasting Notes
Pale gold with luminous clarity. The nose reveals ripe apricot, acacia honey, and almond cream, accented by wet stone and beeswax. On the palate, it is broad and textured, with layered stone fruit and a firm mineral core and a dash of salinity. The finish is powerful and lingering, with impressive depth and elegance.
About Domaine des Hauts Chassis
A small, family-run estate in the southern part of Crozes-Hermitage, led by fifth-generation winemaker Franck Faugier. Farming organically on glacial pebble soils, the Domaine crafts expressive, terroir-driven wines—mostly Syrah—with remarkable depth, freshness, and texture. From the silky, floral Esquisse to the bold and structured Les Chassis, these wines capture the essence of the Northern Rhône with both elegance and soul. The wines made from famed Hermitage – are otherworldly.
