2023 Domaine des Hauts Chassis L’Essential
Tasting Notes
Pale gold with green reflections. Aromas of pear, fennel, and citrus peel are accented by honeysuckle and crushed stone. The palate is broad yet elegant, showing ripe orchard fruit, mineral tension, and a soft, waxy texture. A clean, savory finish offers excellent balance and persistence.
About Domaine des Hauts Chassis
A small, family-run estate in the southern part of Crozes-Hermitage, led by fifth-generation winemaker Franck Faugier. Farming organically on glacial pebble soils, the Domaine crafts expressive, terroir-driven wines—mostly Syrah—with remarkable depth, freshness, and texture. From the silky, floral Esquisse to the bold and structured Les Chassis, these wines capture the essence of the Northern Rhône with both elegance and soul. The wines made from famed Hermitage – are otherworldly.
