2022 Castello di Uviglie Sofia di Bricherasio - Albarossa Piemonte DOC
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson with a vivid sheen. The nose offers blackberry compote, red currant, and baking spices, underscored by a floral lift. The palate is structured yet juicy, with firm tannins and lively acidity framing dark red fruit, dried herbs, and a mineral edge. A persistent finish leaves a note of spice and graphite.
About Castello di Uviglie
Castello di Uviglie is a historic estate in Monferrato, Piedmont, with roots dating back to 1491—one of the older wineries in Piedmont. Today, it’s led by the Bonzano family. The winery is known for its dedication to native varieties like Barbera, Grignolino, and Albarossa, producing wines that are vibrant, expressive, and true to their terroir. Aging takes place in a well-preserved ancient quarry beneath the castle, creating ideal conditions for their refined reds. Warm hospitality and a deep respect for tradition make Castello di Uviglie a special place to visit—and to taste.
