2020 Castello di Uviglie Le Cave - Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG

Tasting Notes

Inky ruby with deep saturation. The nose reveals black cherry, plum, and licorice, along with notes of balsamic and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and powerful, with concentrated dark fruit, firm structure, and lively acidity. The finish is long and intense, leaving impressions of spice and dried herbs.

About Castello di Uviglie

Castello di Uviglie is a historic estate in Monferrato, Piedmont, with roots dating back to 1491—one of the older wineries in Piedmont. Today, it’s led by the Bonzano family. The winery is known for its dedication to native varieties like Barbera, Grignolino, and Albarossa, producing wines that are vibrant, expressive, and true to their terroir. Aging takes place in a well-preserved ancient quarry beneath the castle, creating ideal conditions for their refined reds. Warm hospitality and a deep respect for tradition make Castello di Uviglie a special place to visit—and to taste.
