2020 Fèlsina Fontalloro - IGT
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson with a dark core. Aromas of blackberry, leather, and dried herbs mingle with balsamic and savory spice. On the palate, it’s rich and commanding, with velvety tannins supporting dark fruit, tobacco, and iron-like minerality. The finish is expansive, structured, and age-worthy.
About Fèlsina
Fèlsina is a historic estate in the southeastern corner of Chianti Classico, Tuscany. Since its acquisition by the Poggiali family in 1966, Fèlsina has become renowned for its dedication to Sangiovese, producing wines that are both expressive and true to their terroir. The estate's vineyards span diverse soils, from the stony, calcareous terrains of Chianti Classico to the sandy, loamy soils of the Colli Senesi, allowing for a range of nuanced expressions. Aging takes place in a combination of Slavonian oak casks and French oak barriques, contributing to the wines' complexity and aging potential.
