2022 Holocene Memorialis

Tasting Notes

“This aromatic set of briary and brambly red fruit makes me want to dab it on my pulse points. Leathery tannins and crisp acidity join forces with tangy flavors of raspberries and rooibos tea with a lemon wedge. Enjoy 2024–2037. 97 points. Cellar Selection”. — Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast

About Holocene

Holocene is a boutique Oregon winery, renowned for its focus on producing high-quality, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Established by winemaker Todd Alexander (previously of Bryant Family Vineyard in Napa Valley and current winemaker for high-end wineries such as Force Majeure and WeatherEye) and wife Carrie Alexander; Holocene Wines aims to capture the unique characteristics of the Willamette Valley’s diverse vineyard sites. The winery sources grapes from the best vineyard sites throughout the Willamette Valley, utilizing sustainable farming practices to ensure the health and vitality of the vines. This meticulous approach allows Holocene Wines to create wines that reflect the distinctive soil, climate, and topography of the region.

The winery's philosophy centers on minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar, emphasizing the importance of allowing the natural expression of the grapes to shine through. This results in wines that are elegant, balanced, and complex, with a focus on purity of fruit and a sense of place.
